An Open Letter to Medicare Patients from TruOrtho
Dear Valued Patients,
We wanted to take a moment to address an important aspect of our practice that sets us apart. At TruOrtho, the exceptional care provided by our esteemed orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Amanda Marshall-Rodriguez and Dr. Jamie L. Lynch, extends to patients with Medicare insurance. We value each and every patient, and we want to share some information with you regarding our approach to Medicare.

The Medicare program was established in 1965 with a specific provision that prohibits the government from practicing medicine. However, over the years, government involvement in patient care has increased, often leading to additional paperwork and guidelines that may not always serve the best interests of the individual patient. We are committed to providing you with state-of-the-art, personalized care, which is why both Dr. Marshall-Rodriguez and Dr. Lynch have made the decision to opt out of the Medicare program. This allows us to focus on you, our patient, rather than getting caught up in administrative tasks.

What does this mean for you as a patient?
As opted-out physicians, we are more dedicated than ever to providing you with tailored treatment that is specifically designed to address your orthopedic needs. By not accepting Medicare as insurance, we can prioritize the time we spend with you, ensuring that every interaction is focused on your well-being.

Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. While you always have access to your own medical records, rest assured that we safeguard your personal information. Your records will never be shared with anyone outside of our office without a legally required subpoena. This level of privacy is not guaranteed with Medicare providers, as they are obligated to transmit patient information to the government.

It is important to note that when we direct your care to Medicare providers for specialized tests or procedures, such as imaging, surgery, physical therapy, or anesthesia, those services are still covered by Medicare as usual. The only difference is that our services, as opted-out physicians, are provided on a fee-for-service basis under a Medicare Private Contract. If you haven't already done so, we kindly ask you to sign this contract prior to receiving our services.

In conclusion, our utmost commitment is to provide you with exceptional, personalized care at an affordable price. We believe that the value we offer lies in our dedication to your well-being and our ability to focus solely on your orthopedic needs. We sincerely hope you share our vision and continue to entrust us with your care.

Thank you for your continued support and trust in TruOrtho.

Warm regards,
Dr. Amanda Marshall-Rodriguez and Dr. Jamie L. Lynch
